Especially for ARCO, Kunstverein Amsterdam, Milan and New York have collectively set-up an unique auction featuring works by artists who have collaborated with one or more of the Kunstverein venues. KV Auction is a two-hour performative venture hosted by artist Gabriel Lester, in which alternative means of fundraising are explored. Works to be auctioned are by amongst others Heman Chong, Sarah Crowner, Richard Kostelanetz, Gabriel Lester, Raimundas Malasauskas, Renzo Martens, Simon Martin, Willem Oorebeek, Adam Pendleton, Michael Portnoy, Alexandre Singh, Barbara Visser and Robert Wilhite.

Wednesday 8 February 2012 Kunstverein presents the first part of a new project by Carlos Amorales: Suppress, Modify, Preserve.
A study day at the Museo del Risorgimento in Milan.
The first part of a new project by Carlos Amorales for Kunstverein Milano.
Together with thinkers, theoriticians and professionals from a variety of fields, we'll discuss questions raised by the artist's practice, such as the writing of history, narrative modes and the representation of identity, the cancelation of 'the document' and censorship....
At the end of the day the artist presents his entire project, and shows a film produced in France, related to his new project in Milan.

Il Buon Vicino
Lunedi 30 gennaio 2012 sarà presentato il numero zero della rivista Il Buon Vicino. Periodico di arte, politica e territorio". Il nuovo progetto editoriale di Kunstverein (MIlano) si articola a partire dalla crisi del principio di “vicinato” e la relativa organizzazione e privatizzazione dello spazio urbano da cui ne conseguono una serie di ingiustizie sociali. La pratica artistica contemporanea è, qui, uno strumento per la comprensione e l’analisi delle trasformazioni sociali, per descrivere quello che non è ancora decodificato. Perchè a New York come a Livorno (città in cui nasce la rivista), il problema è creativo, sperimentare nuove forme di partecipazione, nuovi modi del vivere comune, recuperare il senso di convivialità.

The second in the Hush Hush series, organized especially for the members of Kunstverein Amsterdam, Milan and New York is dedicated to Ad Reinhardt's Comics. In the 1940s Ad Reinhardt published a series of caustic comics commenting on the New York art world. His Broadsides appeared in outlets such as PM, Art News, and Transformations.
