“Indicibile” is the title of a laboratory conceived with the aim of collectively exploring the alterations of space and time induced by a psychedelic substance. A group of artists, gathered over the course of a week, modified the spatial context of the experiment and subsequently attempted to describe the experience they had undergone. Such experiences possess an ineffable quality that resists any attempt at faithful linguistic translation. Similar to dreams, yet profoundly different in nature, they evade any form of “flattening” into a representational plane.

L'indicibile volume I is the first isuue of the series Esperlucat with the aim to offer research on altered states of consciousness (ASC) to as wide an audience as possible from various interdisciplinary fields ranging from artistic practices to anthropology, from philosophy to psychoanalysis and from iconography to musicology, in order to explore the perceptual, physical and mental experiences that have accompanied humans throughout history.
